Tintype of Steamboat Captain and Daughter. Superb image on a 1/6 plate (2 1/2" x 3 1/2"). Dates from the Civil War period. Note the little tin buckets the child is holding. We can’t quite read the badge on his cap. Condition is good. There is a bend upper left and you can also see a white streak across the man’s chest. $175

Tintype of Dapper Gent – Yikes Stripes! Nifty 1/6 plate portrait. You can feel this guy’s energy. Condition is very good. $25

Tintype of a Tired Working Man. Compelling 1/6 plate of a man who looks like he came from a factory to have his photo taken. He looks reasonably well groomed, but you can see the fatique in his eyes. There is slight tinting to his cheeks. Condition is excellent. $60

Tintype of Three Ladies with Bicycles. Fun 1/6 plate from late 1800’s. Great hats. From the look of things, this must have been a transient resort photographer, because it looks like the “studio” is a tent or tarp. You can see a building peeking up in the top left. Love the bedraggled plants. Condition is very good. It was once in a paper frame, because you can see the very slight outline of the curved opening. $35
